The program will not run. Each time I start my PC a window pops up with this message "Could not initialize AVG Anti-Virus Kernel Interface. Application cannot run".
When I try to uninstall the program I get this message: "Installation failure. Error: Initialization of the language file "C\Program Files\Grisoft\Avg Free" failed. General failure". As a result of the installation not being completed I cannot uninstall it but neither can I try to reinstall it, or another anti-virus program. Also, I am not regsitered with AVG to post a help topic on its site.
AVG refuses to help because it is the free edition. I've been told my only option is to install a new hard disk and transfer all my programs to it and use a real anti-virus program.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for your advice; however, I tried each suggestion and not one of them worked. My only solution now is to have a new hard disk installed and transfer only the data I need for my existing computer to the new hard disk. And, also, to stay away from AVG products.

3. Click the Check Names button...

Go on the net and get a program called "kill box" I have had the same problems as you ( not with avg but). Let me know how you get on. By the way its a free program.

When I try to uninstall the program I get this message: "Installation failure. Error: Initialization of the language file "C\Program Files\Grisoft\Avg Free" failed. General failure". As a result of the installation not being completed I cannot uninstall it but neither can I try to reinstall it, or another anti-virus program. Also, I am not regsitered with AVG to post a help topic on its site.
AVG refuses to help because it is the free edition. I've been told my only option is to install a new hard disk and transfer all my programs to it and use a real anti-virus program.

I see that a few other people have asked this and no one seems to have a straight forward answer but I thought I'd try once more.
I have a brand new Sony VAIO FZ26OE. It is bluetooth capable. When I was first setting up the computer I know that there was an option to turn it on, but I didn't want it on at the moment. Since then, I can't seem to find how to turn it on. I've read the help menu which tells me to double click the WLAN option and select from there, hodownload broadcom bluetooth driverswever there is no bluetooth option available! When I access bluetooth settings from the control pannel, there's no way to turn it on from there either. I've gone to Sony's website and googled my question, but there doesn't seem to be a direct answer anywhere. I have a brand new Sony VAIO FZ26OE. It is bluetooth capable. When I was first setting up the computer I know that there was an option to turn it on, but I didn't want it on at the moment. Since then, I can't seem to find how to turn it on. I've read the help menu which tells me to double click the WLAN option and select from there, hodownload broadcom bluetooth driverswever there is no bluetooth option available! When I access bluetooth settings from the control pannel, there's no way to turn it on from there either. I've gone to Sony's website and googled my question, but there doesn't seem to be a direct answer anywhere. I've tried to download the broadcom bluetooth driver from the website, but it tells me it can only be installed on vista and I have vista!

What do i have to do to download new ipod touch software without error 3259? I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and error 3259 keeps coming up.
It says my connection times out when my internet is working and my firewall is not on. I cannot up grade to version 2.2.1. What do I Do?
1. If you are using wireless then turn off your router for 10 seconds
2. Turn it back on
3. Uninstall iTunes and Quicktime
4. Install them again
5. re-authorise all your music

I recently bought a copy of Windows 7 from The Ultimate Steal and downloaded the installation to my desktop. Upon trying to install however, when it asks where I would like to install, it lists four places:

Disk 0 Partition 2: RECOVERY(D:) (Primary)
Disk 0 Partition 3: OS (C:) (System)
Disk 0 Partition 4: MEDIADIRECT (Logical)
All of these which the installer says are not places where windows 7 can be installed. I get the following messages for each:
Partition 1: "Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS.
Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. The partition was reservwindows vista oem download freeed by the computer's Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)."
Partition 2: "This selected partition requires at least 5722 MB of free space."
Partition 3: "This selected partition requires at least 6367 MB of free space."
Partition 4: "Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS.

Hi, I actually came across the same problem. The solution is to merge all the partitions together and then deleting the recovery partition. After that your windows 7 should install fine :) hope that helps.

I suggest you not to delete your files. Instead if you have vista service pack 1 installed you can upgrade your OS.By doing it you won't need to delete your old files.

Hi, I actually came across the same problem. The solution is to merge all the partitions together and then deleting the recovery partition. After that your windows 7 should install fine :) hope that helps.

I suggest you not to delete your files. Instead if you have vista service pack 1 installed you can upgrade your OS.By doing it you won't need to delete your old files.

You should check the settings on the McAfee. As a person I womicrosoft.com downloaduld really reccomend to get AVG you can download it off for free at download.com . You can also find lots of the stuff your looking for there too. Andeas vollenweider has great harp stuff.
I listened to many Jean-Michael Jarre and Vangelis music too but I am not sure that those will help you study better. They did for me but I'm not sure I van recommend them for ylisten to instrumental musicou.

well, first of all me and my friends have been making a TON of movies on iMovie and all have been published, now i recentley experienced a problem with my mac, i was dragging a clip into the editing board for a project and the entire iMovie page wen't greyish it's hard to explain, it was like the gray and white and black stripes you see on a t.v without any signal, but it seemed as though everytime i moved my mouse around the page something almost beige ( what i believe was our video) started coming up behind it and more was being built and built.

yeah basically restart, i use the older version of limewire because in my opinion it is much more user friendly than the current one. but also try not downloading it from limewires site. type in google limewire pro download and download that file, you will have limewire pro for free, and it works!
It may be because you have an older computer. If you do get it working you can use it by typing in the name of a song or artist and clicking search. As the search results come in you can click one and press download. The download status will appear toward the bottom of the screen. When the song is complete you can listen to it or drag it into ylimewireour itunes library. Then clear the song out of the download section.
try restarting the computer, uninstall it if its not already done and then reinstall it.
If you press CTRL + ALT + DELETE (all at the same time) and then release, a window should come up called Task Manager. If you go to the Processes Tab and look for something along the lines of "limewire" (.exe) select it, then click End Process at the bottom. Be careful what you end here, and make sure that you only End things with your name next to them, not System, at least - not completely failsafe so just be careful, but ending limewire should be fine.
Then try again.
If not you could try downloading something like YourUninstaller and trying to fix/uninstall anything using that. If not again then reboot and try again, and if you can get into Limewire, try downloading Limewire Pro and see if that works any better for you. (All done at your own risk :) ) - it'll be fine though!

If you go to the Processes Tab and look for something along the lines of "limewire" (.exe) select it, then click End Process at the bottom. Be careful what you end here, and make sure that you only End things with your name next to them, not System, at least - not completely failsafe so just be careful, but ending limewire should be fine.
Then try again.
If not you could try downloading something like YourUninstaller and trying to fix/uninstall anything using that. If not again then reboot and try again, and if you can get into Limewire, try downloading Limewire Pro and see if that works any better for you. (All done at your own risk :) ) - it'll be fine though!

I have an old, but almost "as new condition" Dell Latitude C840 (Pentium 4) laptop computer that I initially bought as a repair job (damaged screen)..
The computer works flawlessly from start-up and will do so all-day, every-day, unless that is, I have to power off and restart, as you would after installing Windows updates etc.
Upon restarting the computer, there is no sound other than the internal speaker 'beeps'..
On opening "Device Manager" I see a yellow (!) icon on the "Crystal WDM Audio Codec" component in "Sound, video and game controllers"... I can find no conflicts, and no reason for the audio to fail to initialise.. Nonetheless, Windows says that the device cannot start because no driver has been installed.. Which leaves me baffled because the driver is installed, and was working just ten minutes before.!
If I manually reinstall thdell oem software downloadse driver everything is fine again until I next need to perform a restart.. Even more baffling, if I turn off the computer and leave it overnight, or even just for an hour, before starting it up again, everything works perfectly and just as it should..
Short of trying a new sound card (which I would need to buy) I'm at a loss as to how to trace or cure the problem.. I already updated the system BIOS from version A08 to A13, but this has had no effect.
Is it likely to be a software issue, or is likely to be faulty hardware.?

All indications are that it is an issue with either the computer hardware, or with Windows/Cirrus Logic drivers (or possibly a conflict between the two.?)

Sounds like the sound card hardware is ok. For some reason Windows is losing the drivers for the sound card. Maybe the bios battery is failing? Windows would lose many of its' settings if the backup battery is dead.
Many it can re-configure during boot up, so would not be noticeable.
The battery is sometimes replaceable, but sometimes soldered in. Do you have a motherboard manual? You could also email Dell for their advice
