mozilla firefox 5Are there better web browsers than Mozilla Firefox 3.5 that do not keep getting pop

Websites pop-up not long after getting on my mozilla firefox 3.5. I have done a anti-rootkit and full computer scan using my paid version of AVG 9.0. Nothing comes up. I have even used malwarebytes and they got rid of two malwares but the popups still occurs. Right now, I am doing a scan with spybot. The adblock preferences has been ineffective.
"out of the box" Firefox allows 3rd party cookies...hence the flood of pop-ups.
It can be tweaked to kill almost every one, giving much smoother sailing on the Internet ocean.
Note that the Internet is so fluid and dynamic, and exploits crop up almost hourly, it is imperative to stay current with all phases of Windows defensive measures, and keep all rubbish out: stopped @ your doorstep.
??NoScript:

??Better Privacy:

?AdBlock Plus:

?Flashblock Plus:

?Ghostery (reveal the web bugs, ad networks and widgets on every page);

[After install it MUST be turned "ON": FF Tools> add-on's> Extensions> Ghostery> Options button> Blocking tab> "Select" All & "ON">mozilla firefox 5 Save.
[Thanks "SurfUp" contributor].

Once these are installed, nothing else can match it.

ADDED: AdBlock Plus settings

To maximize the blocking function of ABP:
On the ABP 'Stop Sign' drop arrow> Preferences> Filters> Add filter subscription: from the list of those available, tick whatever filter fits your Firefox settings have as 'home' country (US is > Easy List); tick 'Subscribe'> OK.
(This list removes the huge top banner ad on these Yahoo pages)

"Easy List" is one good subscription, and others can be obtained for your particular countries servers.
In ABP > Preferences> Filters> Add filter subscription> "View All Subscriptions" link @ top of window> on the new window, select those which you'd like to add (usually by country)> follow prompts to enable.

The list is long...look for any that will help your browse sessions be 'cleaner'.
I use the same security programs. After u run all your security utilities have u tried restarting ur comp? I have always had Mozilla and hardly any pop ups mozilla firefox 5ever come out. When it comes to computer stuff a main clue in figuring out where the problem is is when it started. So when did the problems start? In reference to other browsers Ive heard that "chrome" which is a google browser is pretty good. But like i said mozilla has always been the best for me. Hope this helps and good luck
Does not sound like browser issues, but you may have a infected computer. After the scan with spybot S&D I hope, do a scan with SUPERAntispyware

Online scanner here
Yes!! For sure. I tried out Internet Explorer at first. Worst you could ever use!
Mozilla Firefox works okay. But for me, preferably Apple's- Safari works best. No pop-ups at all.
Check the Mozilla website for anti-popup addons. Adblocker is a nice start, but there are others that will keep you popup free.
google chrome is good and faster than mozilla, i never get popups
or you can try opera but thats pretty slow i think
