I watch Every single episode everyday of dr oz. I was watching the Marijuana episode the other day and had a few inputs. It was very frustrating to me seeing everybody(including dr oz), talk about how marijuana is very additive. Which is Totally incorrect. The one beautiful benefit about marijuana is that it is NOT Physically addictive. Your body does NOT go through withdraws from stopping cold turkey after long term abuse. If you smoke marijuana everyday heavy for 365days , and on the 366th day you do not smoke marijuana, your body Will NOT go through withdraws. This is facts. Any other drug your body will be immune and go through withdraws. So it was very irritating to me watching the show and having to keep hearing that marijuana is addictive. It might be mentally addictive, but there is no withdraws and it is not physically addictive. That's the one beautiful thing about marijuana.
I believe Dr Oz prefers alternative medicine but in my opinion he dr. oz on marijuanadoesn't want to put the mainstream medicine's nose out of joint either. So you will see him push the swine flu vaccine (whilst not vaccinating his four kids with the H1N1 vaccine) and stating marijunana is very addictive (when it is not).
You are correct that marijuana is not physically addictive. It does not cause physical withdrawal symptoms. It does lead to psychological dependence in some individuals. Even this dependence tends to be very weak and can be easily overcome by all or nearly all users.
There is a powerful motive for people like Dr. O to conform to the notions that the government and other influential forces (political, religious, and social) in society espouse. It is, I think in the final analysis, an issue of societal morals and mores, rather than one of health.
It's psychologically addictive, and the latest strains are causing neurological damage. And it seems to cause some weird form of obsession with people who can't seem to stop tdr. oz on marijuanahinking about it and posting obsessive chat about it.
All drugs have at least some form of addictive quality and you proved "mary jane" has it with your potent defense of it. I was addicted to the effects of the high and thought I can stop whenever I want.
The truth is once you start a habit it's hard to stop. No matter if its sucking your thumb, looking both ways to cross a street, eating that favorite food, cursing, smiling, stealing, cleaning, killing or holding your hand up to your face when someone who seems intimidating to you walks close to you.
I challenge you to stop right now as of this very moment, unsuspecting and I'll bet mt paycheck you will try and sneak a smoke.
Unlike the documentary Super High Me when he knew the date he was going to stop, try going cold turkey NOW AND it will drive you bonkers. You might not throw up or get the shakes but your mind soul and brain will.
